The Knowledge Manager will implement and maintain an integrated Knowledge Management System and manage a small reference library to organize the intellectual capital of the Research & Policy (R&P) business unit of Ecos. This position will be located in Durango, CO.

Role Description

??? Determine the needs and information-seeking behavior of R&P, a small team (<20) of engineers, scientists, and energy policy experts.
??? Design, develop, implement and maintain an integrated Knowledge Management System for R&P data, documents, presentations and reference materials that is indexed and searchable.
??? Lead, with little oversight, the implementation of the Knowledge Management System in a way that promotes stakeholder participation.
??? Design, develop and implement an organized and consistent system for working (draft) documents.
??? Manage the R&P reference collection, including digital and physical resources and subscriptions
??? Interact with the broader organization to facilitate the transfer of research findings.
??? Work with IT managers to ensure the needs of R&P and IT are met.
??? Perform related work as required.

Role Competencies
??? Bachelors or master?s degree in library science, knowledge management, or related area of specialty.
??? 1-5 years of experience in development and implementation of a Knowledge Management System within an organization.
??? SharePoint Super User experience.
??? Library collection development experience preferred.
??? Background in energy efficiency, environmental studies, or other relevant scientific experience is preferred.
??? Educational background in Library or Information Science.
??? Proven success in implementation of a Knowledge Management System.
??? Experience in management of a small library collection.
??? Familiarity with standards and best practices in the areas of metadata management, tagging strategies, taxonomy implementation, findability and search.
??? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to train and educate colleagues.
??? Capable of taking initiative and enthusiastically lead this organization in the implementation of the Knowledge Management System.
??? Able to work independently and think creatively.
??? Experience using knowledge management systems such as SharePoint, Documentum, Knowledge Tree, etc.
??? Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
??? Desire to work in the field of energy efficiency.
